Larry Kern of Santa Rosa, California says, "FEPO is a Theatre Company which brings theatre to young people." Dorita McCasing of Kalamazoo, Michigan, thinks a FEPO is one of the Teletubbies. Harold Slick of No Name, Colorado responded with "Oh yeah, my dad drove a FEPO for years. They're very sporty, too." Although Larry Kern's answer may not be as entertaining, it has the redeeming quality of being correct.
FEPO actually stands for "For Educational Purposes Only." Catchy right? On the serious side, FEPO is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing arts education through theatre to young audiences directly into the schools. Our goal is to provide original productions that entertain, educate and stimulate students to want to know more about the subject matter and bring performing arts to young people who may not have had the experience.
How do we make this happen? We do this in three ways:
FEPO Theatre Company exists to present exceptional educational theatre experiences and to advance theatre as a means of cultivating, challenging and inspiring young audiences.
To present quality live theatre to students through the 12th grade at their schools during school hours at least twice a year and one big production as a field trip per year to a theater in the counties of Sonoma, Marin, Napa, Mendocino, Solano, Contra Costa, Alameda, San Francisco, Humboldt and Butte.
